What do you all think about fortune-telling? It is widely believed that
many women trust fortune-telling, while many men do not. I also
believe in fortune-telling, but to be precise, I only believe in good
fortune-telling results and ignore the bad ones. This is a rather
ridiculous way of confronting fortune-telling, and indeed, it is quite
laughable. However, fortune-telling has a frightening aspect,
especially daily fortune-telling. The danger lies in the fact that if
the fortune-telling results actually turn out to be true, that's fine.
But what if the fortune-teller is actually a fraud, making up the
results randomly, filling them with lies? (I also often make up fake
fortunes myself.) If someone believes in such fortunes and acts
according to them every day, what kind of situation might arise? That
person would constantly make completely wrong assumptions every day.
Even if their luck were average, wouldn’t their work, love life, and
relationships be completely ruined? This would be a life ruined because
of believing in fortune-telling. I used to believe in Jonathan Cainer
and checked my horoscope every day, comparing it with my daily
experiences and emotions.
After Jonathan Cainer passed away, I was released from this fortune-
telling obsession and now, I hardly look at anything anymore. (I also
used to like tarot cards, though.) This experience gave rise to much
reflection on my own life and led to many judgments about my own life
as well. Anyway, as of now, I still: believe in positive fortune-
telling results and ignore the negative ones. By doing so, I
essentially brainwash and mind-control myself. Even if the fortune-
telling isn’t accurate, or even if it’s a fake, I enthusiastically
believe that through mind-control, I can exert more power than I
naturally would. By doing this, I feel that I can approach life much
more positively and proactively than living a life without fortune-
telling. How about you all? How do you engage with fortune-telling?
